THOUGHTS
Working with Universal Orlando is always a good time, and this project gave me the chance to be involved in almost every part of the production. I directed the shoot, helped shape casting, wardrobe, and mood, and worked closely with the photographer to plan shots, talk through lenses and angles, and make sure everything felt right on camera. From there I worked with the Universal team through production, edited the final photography myself, built a string-out from the video footage, and packaged everything up for delivery. It was one of those projects where I got to bounce between art direction, production, and actually getting my hands into the work, which is pretty much where I’m happiest.

First Time Cast
To keep production costs down, we pulled together family and friends who happened to fit the demographic we needed. The part I enjoyed most was working with the younger cast and getting them comfortable in front of the camera. A lot of that meant joking around, loosening things up, and giving them room to throw ideas back at me instead of just telling them where to stand. Once they stopped thinking about the camera so much, the shoot got a lot more natural and a lot more fun.
